I'm sorry, Monique.
My primary mind trick...Oi. I'm sorry, Monique.

My primary mind trick is to have two scales: Normal and Fibro. On a fibro day, I get a gold star for doing the dishes. Or editing a chapter. Sometimes even a page. On a normal day, those things don't rate a star. Truthfully, I don't pay much attention to Normal scale, it's just normal productive me, unless it's a big deal, like delivering an ms.

But Fibro scale is enormously useful to me, when the insidious voices of "oh, it's not that bad, you lazy ass" start up. When it's really bad, I also like to ask myself: What CAN you do? Sometimes the answer is pathetic: You can take a bath. You can do some yoga stretches. You can make a cup of tea and read for a bit. You can give yourself a break, and cuddle with your kitten and watch stupid TV. Still, it helps me locate some small thing that might make me feel better physically, and less powerless, emotionally.

It's all in the mind...tricks. :) I hope you feel better very soon.Karen Adamshttp://www.bookdr.netnoreply@blogger.com
